This post is for my sister, Kate, who is about to embark on a kitchen renovation. While my preference was always for a white kitchen, preferably exactly like the one from 'Something's Gotta Give', I have lately been swayed by beautiful black kitchens. So, I'm offering Kate a comparison. It's an unenviable decision, isn't it? The top two images are of the aforementioned 'Something's Gotta Give' kitchen and dining room, care of the amazing blog Cote de Texas. The bottom two are of Gwyneth Paltrow's Hamptons house via House and Garden, and the three above those are of Kelly Wearstler's kitchen in Domicilium Decoratus. Good luck, Kate!
Thanks so much Beth! While the middle one feels a bit busy to me, Gwyneth's does look very stylish. I've got to say, though, that I DO like the white, especially with the white french doors.
ReplyDeleteI'll take Gwyneths!
ReplyDeleteLove the black myself and think you have a lovely blog. :O)
Hi Gina,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by and for your kind comment :)
Kate, I knew you were a white girl deep down x
ReplyDeleteLove Kelly Wearstlers kitchen - so chic!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love both. I hate it when I have to choose.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Thank goodness I can't afford to have my kitchen done :)
ReplyDeleteI love white kitchens but lately these black ones have taken my interest. I've been checking your blog for a few weeks and really like it.
ReplyDeleteOh black is back isnt it? The latest style magazines show black kitches popping up everywhere. While I think I'm still a white person, one cannot ignore the fact that black is just beatiful and adds that bit of drama, do you think?
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

SO love the black kitchen.... Do you think it can be done in a smaller space? Or would the black just swallow you up?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback jlonit :)
