New Vintage

Over the last few weeks, I've spent $75 at the op shop, for which I 've bought:

Four Thonet chairs ($5 each):


One lamp ($5):


One fireplace surround complete with mantel piece ($20). The fact that I don't actually have a fireplace isn't a problem - I use it as a book shelf:



Half a metre of French grain sack fabric ($30), which I made into a cushion with a calico backing:


Not  a bad haul. My op shop has been an Aladdin's cave lately. I'll post some more finds soon.

    How exciting! One of my favourite pastimes is rummaging through second hand shops. Coming away with a bargain that adds a little character to your home is so much fun. Well done!Clever idea for the fire surround!

    I can't believe you got those chairs at that price..they are like hen's teeth! I love the idea of the mantel becoming a bookshelf too. Have a fantastic week!

    Beth you really are the queen of bargain finds! love your Thonet chairs, they'll look perfect in the Boatshed,my Mum and Aunt have the no.14 ones.Lucky find of the fabric for your cushion,lovely.
