We´re very fortunate to be swapping for a week in a lovely apartment in the former East Berlin:
So far, this city is absolutely fascinating. The highlights for me, though, have tended to be not only thought-provoking, but somewhat sad, such as the ´Pieta´-like sculpture by Kathe Kollwitz of a dead soldier being cradled by his mother:
The rather controversial Memorial to the Jews:
And an intact section of the Berlin Wall:

My God, still swapping? How many places will you go to this summer? Berlin looks intriguing. I've never been there, only to Frankfurt, Hanover and Hamburg in Germany.
very cute apartment,,, great photos!! R u every going to come home ???
Hi Jen,
You definitely should try Berlin - it´s very interesting. We´ve still got 3 more swaps, believe it or not :)
Hi Michelle,
I´ll be home on August 1st - I must say I´m missing home - not the cold weather though :)
Wie interessant! Not to mention the bunker of a certain flatulent lunatic...
Yes, It´s a pity there´s nothing left of the bunker. You just have to imagine it, which is pretty scary :)
