Boatshed Chic 2

These photos are from Absolutely Beautiful Things, and they are all images which I would love to borrow from as I transform the boatshed. To me they are the essence of boatshed chic - a predominantly white palette, classic pieces - generally second-hand, with bursts of colour such as pink or blue. A romantic, bohemian look.

Boatshed Chic

These two images, once more care of Absolutely Beautiful Things, depict the kind of look I'm hoping to have for the boatshed once the walls are painted white. And I'm pretty sure I'll be able to paint them very soon.

Another look that I want for the boatshed is to hang mismatched china together on a wall. I have previously included photographs of this look, but here are some more from Absolutely Beautiful Things.

Mirror Image

I saw an art deco mirror yesterday when I was buying my little footstool. I wasn't sure whether to buy it, but now that I've seen these images of mismatched mirrors care of Absolutely Fabulous Things and Casapinka, I will definitely be stopping by to get it on my way home.

More Neutrals

Two more rooms from Marie-Claire via Absolutely Beautiful Things which use neutral tones. While I do like a splash of pink or blue, I can't help being drawn to white, black and grey. On the weekend, I was drooling over Kelly Wearstler's and Gwyneth Paltrow's black kitchens.

Gorgeous Ottoman

I just bought this ottoman for $22. I've ordered some Florence Broadhurst Circles and Squares in Bengal, and will be shortly trying my hand at upholstering! Not sure how much it'll look like Gwyneth's though.

Some 'After' Shots

As promised, here are some 'After' shots of the street and op-shop chairs and table that I painted white. I think they fit into the boatshed quite well. I'll take one of the chest of drawers next week.

More beautiful rooms care of Desire to Inspire, this time by photographer Mikkel Vang. I particularly love the boatshed image, which juxtaposes the fishing baskets with that beautiful bed. I also like the bathroom shots because the rooms are a little rough around the edges and shabby.

More Wall Art

These images come from Habitually Chic's August post on Johnson Hartig. Besides the wall decoration, I love the mix of pillows on the bed and the mismatched bedside lights.
