We had a great night in Byron Bay staying with our friends Lara and Geoff, who took us to Bangalow for dinner. We had a drink at Bangalow pub, then dinner at a great Thai cafe with live music. The weather had improved after Port Macquarie, Byron's lighthouse just as popular as ever with visitors:

We then drove to Surfers and stayed at Mantra Legends for $107. There was a kitchen so we cooked our own dinner:


The balcony view was quite good - we didn't mind the other high-rises around us - that's part of the fun of Surfers:
